WCI and Winam Green Ventures recently collaborated to implement our “Reducing Adolescent Pregnancy (RAP) in the Era of COVID-19” pilot program in Kisumu, Kenya. We engaged 60 adolescent girls over the course of four weeks in socially-distant gatherings to provide them with critical resources, information, and support to make healthy decisions for their futures.

I’m the founder of Muvafrika (pronounced Mother Africa), we advocate for educational quality in Africa through projects, consulting and community. Mostly we connect users (which I like to call my community) who are typically active and aspiring philanthropies with philanthropist programs and organisations that carry out educational work within Africa. We help create a portfolio in terms of where their donation is going.
My Best Stories and The Worst Things That Ever Happened to Me
Eventually, we just rented our own car and we made it fine to the next city over. We then hitchhiked with this weird Australian guy for a while. He was very interesting. I was actually terrified because we had just seen the movie, Wolf Creek. (if you haven’t heard of Wolf creek- it’s a scary movie about a true story where travellers were victims of a serial killer in the Australian Outback). One day there was a stop check at two in the afternoon on Sunday the cops are doing with breathalyzers.
