Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully. By applying to or participating in the Student Ambassador Program, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and the applicable Privacy Policy.

1. Program Overview

The Student Ambassador Program with IBM SkillsBuild (the “Program”) is an educational and professional development opportunity provided by IBM and managed by Your Big Year, an International Connector LLC program (“Manager”).

The Program is scheduled to operate virtually from September 2025 through May 2026, subject to change at the Manager’s discretion.

Participation in the Program is voluntary and does not constitute employment, agency, partnership, or independent contractor status with the Manager, IBM, or any Program partner.

2. Eligibility

To participate, applicants must:

  • Meet any eligibility requirements communicated during the application process

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior. All majors welcome.

  • Successful completion of your IBM Bob micro-credential badge from IBM SkillsBuild platform.

  • Attending one of the 75+ eligible universities:

The Manager reserves the right to verify eligibility at any time.

3. Program Participation Requirements

Participants are expected to actively engage in Program activities, which may include:

  • Completing coursework and earning credentials or badges

  • Organizing or supporting events, workshops, or outreach activities

  • Communicating with faculty, peers, or campus organizations

  • Sharing Program-related content on social media or other platforms

Participation is subject to ongoing engagement and adherence to Program guidelines. The Manager reserves the right to suspend or remove participants who fail to meet participation expectations or violate these Terms.

There is no fee to apply or participate. Participants are solely responsible for any incidental or personal expenses incurred.

4. Content and License Grant

As part of the Program, participants may submit or share content, including but not limited to photos, videos, written materials, social media posts, or testimonials (“Content”).

By submitting Content, participants grant the Manager and Program partners a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, distribute, display, and adapt such Content solely for Program administration, promotion, and related marketing purposes, in any media now known or later developed.

This license:

  • Does not transfer ownership of the Content

  • Does not permit use unrelated to the Program

  • May be revoked for future use upon written request, where permitted by law

5. Likeness and Publicity Consent

Participants consent to the use of their name, likeness, voice, school affiliation, and biographical information in connection with Program-related communications, promotions, and materials, without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.

Nothing in this section waives rights that cannot be waived under applicable state law.

6. Data Privacy & Privacy Rights

Personal information collected in connection with the Program is processed in accordance with applicable U.S. state privacy laws and the Program’s Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.

Depending on state of residence, participants may have rights regarding their personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain processing, as provided by law.

7. Third-Party Platforms

Participation may involve use of third-party platforms (e.g., social media, communication tools, learning platforms). Use of such platforms is governed by their respective terms and policies. The Manager is not responsible for third-party platform practices, moderation, or availability.

8. Program Modifications and Termination

The Manager reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Program, in whole or in part, at any time for operational, technical, legal, or business reasons.

Participants may withdraw from the Program at any time.

9. Prohibited Conduct

Participants may not:

  • Violate applicable laws or regulations

  • Misrepresent affiliation with the Program

  • Engage in fraudulent, disruptive, or harmful conduct

  • Interfere with Program operations or other participants

Violation may result in removal from the Program.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Program and related materials are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Manager disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers, so portions of this section may not apply.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Manager and Program partners shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from participation in the Program.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

12. Indemnification

Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Manager, Program partners, and their respective affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from claims arising out of participation in the Program or violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

13. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where superseded by applicable state consumer or privacy protection laws.

Any disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate courts located in California, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any Program-specific guidelines, constitute the entire agreement between participants and the Manager regarding the Program.
