Part of the Your Big Year® Youth Training Program

1. Introduction

CareerReady Connect (“the Program”) is an online youth training program delivered via a mobile and web-based learning platform (the “Platform”). The Program forms part of the Your Big Year® youth training program, owned and operated by International Connector B.V., located in The Hague, The Netherlands (“International Connector”, “we”, “us”).

By registering for or participating in the Program, you agree to these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform or participate in the Program.

2. Eligibility

  • The Program is available to individuals aged 16 years and older.

  • Participants under 18 years of age may only participate with verifiable parental or legal guardian consent. These forms are sent to you after you register and must be filled out to continue in the program.

  • By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you meet the age requirements.

3. Nature of the Program

  • CareerReady Connect provides training, learning content, and skill development focused on career readiness and personal development.

  • Participation does not guarantee employment, internships, income, or job placement.

  • The Program is educational in nature and outcomes depend on individual engagement and effort.

4. Cost and Fees

  • Participation in the Program is free of charge.

  • There are no hidden fees, subscriptions, or payment obligations for participants.

5. User Account and Access

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details.

  • You may not share your account with others.

  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated.

6. User-Generated Content

As part of the learning process, participants may be asked to submit content through the Platform, including but not limited to:

  • Written assignments

  • Reflections

  • Project submissions

  • Photos or videos

  • Messages and feedback

By submitting content:

  • You confirm that the content is your own or that you have permission to share it.

  • You grant International Connector B.V. a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use the content anonymously solely for educational, training, quality improvement, safeguarding, and program evaluation purposes.

  • Your content will not be sold or used for commercial advertising without explicit consent.

We reserve the right to monitor, moderate, review, restrict, or remove any content that is deemed inappropriate and, where necessary, to suspend or remove a participant’s access to the Platform.

7. Messaging and Community Interaction

The Platform includes a messaging system allowing communication between:

  • Participants

  • Instructors

  • Administrators

  • Group members

Participants agree to:

  • Communicate respectfully and lawfully

  • Not engage in harassment, bullying, discrimination, or inappropriate conduct

  • Not share illegal, harmful, or offensive content

We reserve the right to moderate, review, restrict, or remove messages and to take appropriate action, including suspension, where necessary to protect participants.

8. Parental Consent (Under 18)

For participants under 18:

  • A parent or legal guardian must provide consent for:

    • Use of the Platform

    • Participation in the Program

    • Processing of personal data

  • Without verified consent, access may be limited or denied.

9. Intellectual Property

  • All content, materials, curriculum, branding, trademarks (including Your Big Year®), and Platform technology are the exclusive intellectual property of International Connector B.V.

  • Participants may not copy, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit any materials without prior written permission.

Added for U.S. protection (and generally helpful everywhere):

  • Participants may not reverse engineer, scrape, or circumvent the Platform, or use Program materials to train AI systems or for commercial purposes without written permission.

  • If third-party content/tools are used within the Program, all related trademarks and intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners, and participants receive no rights except as necessary to participate in the Program.

10. Data Protection & GDPR Compliance

International Connector B.V. processes personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

10.1 What Data We Collect

We may collect:

  • Name, birth year, email address

  • Educational submissions and progress data

  • Platform usage data

  • Messages sent through the Platform

10.2 Purpose of Processing

Data is processed for:

  • Delivering and improving the Program

  • Monitoring learning progress

  • Communication and support

  • Legal and safeguarding obligations

  • Additional privacy and safeguarding protection for minors

10.3 Legal Basis

Processing is based on:

  • Participant consent

  • Parental consent (where applicable)

  • Legitimate educational interest

  • Legal obligations

10.4 Data Sharing

  • Data is not sold.

  • Data may be shared with trusted service providers strictly for operating the Platform, under data processing agreements.

10.5 Data Retention

  • Data is retained only as long as necessary for the Program or legal requirements.

  • Participants may request deletion where legally permissible.

10.6 Participant Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data

  • Correct inaccurate data

  • Request deletion

  • Restrict or object to processing

  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

11. Platform Availability

  • We strive for continuous availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

  • We are not liable for temporary outages, maintenance, or technical issues beyond our control.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law:

  • International Connector B.V. is not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

  • Participation is at the participant’s own risk.

  • We are not responsible for outcomes related to career or employment.

  • The Platform and Program are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if:

  • These Terms are violated

  • Misuse of the Platform occurs

  • Safeguarding concerns arise

Participants may stop using the Program at any time.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless International Connector B.V., Your Big Year®, and their affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to: (a) your use of the Platform; (b) your submitted content; (c) your violation of these Terms or applicable laws; or (d) your infringement of any third-party rights.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of The Netherlands. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of The Hague.
