Smaller Earth's "Your Big Year 2010" Terms, Conditions and Rules of Participation
Signing this agreement and/or registering to take part in the “Your Big Year” competition constitutes full acceptance of the Terms and Conditions here with.
Employees of Smaller Earth, sponsors of the competition and their families are not eligible to participate in the competition. Similarly, any supplier of Goods or Services connected with the competition, and their families, are ineligible for entry The General Terms and Conditions of Smaller Earths normal Competition Rules apply throughout this competition.
All entrants are required to seek permission from employers and testify that they are free to participate in the competition. No liability will be accepted on the part of Smaller Earth its co-promoters or agents from action taken against any individual should this not be the case. Similarly Smaller Earth, its co-promoters or agents will not be liable for any loss of earnings or any other expenses incurred by participation in the competition.
Entry into the competition is free and Lottery and Gaming regulations do not apply.
All entrants to Your Big Year must be aged 18 or over and hold a valid passport for travel to the UK on the 1st November 2010 - 30th November 2010 and be available to travel within this date range. Any additional requirements the participant has have in order to travel to the UK, including visas, are the responsibility of the participating individual. Should the entrant not be able to travel on account of any such travel requirement then they will be eliminated from the competition. The travel arrangements for the finalists to and from Liverpool, UK and the appropriate choice of transportation will be made by Smaller Earth. Any additional travel arrangements will be at the expense and arranged by the individual.
You may be required to undergo a medical examination prior to participation. No liability will be accepted on the part of Smaller Earth, its co-promoters or agents for any loss, illness or injury resulting directly or otherwise from participation in this Competition.
No liability on the part of Smaller Earth its co-promoters or agents will be accepted for any action, civil or otherwise, taken against individual participants in the promotion.
Entrants into the promotion have no claim whatsoever to any intellectual or other property connected to the competition, which remains in the sole ownership of Your Big Year.
No promotional activity using the “Your Big Year” property or otherwise, with any 3rd Party, can be undertaken by any participant, before or after the promotion, without the express written consent of Smaller Earth.
Collusion with other participants prior to the competition is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate disqualification. During the competition any physical communication with people external to Your Big Year is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate disqualification.
All materials submitted by the participant should be their own work and acknowledgement of any source material should be made. Your Big Year is not liable for any breaches of copyright, infringements of liability that are made by the individual participants. Your Big Year reserves the right to remove any materials that are suspected of infringing 3rd party rights.
All entrants will be required to take part in future promotional activity exclusively for Smaller Earth before/ during and/or after the promotion in connection with the “Your Big Year” Competition. All entrants are also required to strictly observe the instructions of Smaller Earth, its co-promoters or agents during the promotion The Competition will run from July 1st until November 20th when two individual winners will be announced.
Once eliminated, no participant will have a claim against any party connected with the Competition.
The Final 24 Contestants will be chosen based on the following routes.
The six participants that have raised the most money for their chosen charitable organization(s) will qualify for the final stage. The decision will be made based on the total amount of funds raised by the entrant as registered on Ammado by October 10th at Midnight GMT.
The six finalists that have referred the most individual registrations to the competition will additionally qualify for the final stage of the competition. One registration per person, duplicate votes will not count. Invalid email accounts will render the vote void.
There will be twelve qualifying finalists decided by a series of tasks publicized online at Your Big Year. Each of these tasks will result in three qualifying participants to the final stage. Each of the tasks will be judged in accordance with following paragraph and the terms and conditions associated with each task will be posted online prior to the event.
Once a participant has won a task (WOO!) they cannot win any of the subsequent WOO’s and therefore will be restricted from entering any WOO's limited by number ie WOO 1 & 3.
A participant can only win a place in the finals via one route, the order in which this will be done is WOO! 1, WOO! 3, WOO! 4, WOO! 2, Fund Raising and finally Referals. If a participant wins a place in the finals via a WOO! and would otherwise be eligible because they are in the top 6 of either the Fund Raising or referals league table their position will be discounted in the league table and the next best fund raiser or refer will be included in the final 6.
Smaller Earth will administer the judging of the final tasks of the competition based on The Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
All contestants will be required to fully co-operate with Your Big Year activity both prior and during the competition. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
Force Majeure – no liability will be accepted for circumstances beyond the direct control of, Smaller Earth (or any other partner within the promotion) which may result in the cancellation or postponement of the competition, or the competition will be declared void and all prizes forfeited. Similarly, Smaller Earth and its co-promoters or agents reserve the right to declare the competition void at any stage without notice or explanation – all claims by any entrant will be forfeited.
Participants should not use the name, images, logos or trademarks of, Smaller Earth or Your Big Year without express prior consent.
Smaller Earth or its agents reserve the right to eject any entrant without notice.
There are two individual prizes, each is a twelve-month trip around the world for one person and no cash alternative will be offered. The prize only will be awarded to the two winning entrants at the end of the promotion No cash alternative will be offered.
Smaller Earth reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions without notification. Acceptance of these Terms and Conditions also apply to any subsequent revision, whether notified or not. The promoter is Smaller Earth Ltd, registered office, 37 Warren Street, London W1T 6AD – Registered in England and Wales with Registered Number 06166137. Errors and Omissions Excepted.
Acceptance of these Terms and Conditions allows Smaller Earth to use your name and/or image and any associated properties, eg recorded and live interviews etc, in any future promotional or advertising activity in relation to the Your Big Year Competition
FALSIFICATION OF INFORMATION ON THIS OR ANY ELEMENT OF THE PROMOTION OR FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH ANY TERMS AND CONDITIONS WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION. THIS APPLIES TO POST-PROMOTION, ANY PRIZES BEING RECLAIMABLE SHOULD THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS BE BREACHED.
