Back in 1999, following a desperate need to improve the precarious Romanian system, a small group of students decided to set up an NGO, that is Volunteers for Ideas and Projects. In time, the activity of the NGO has led to a highly performance extracurricular learning programme, based on 50 local, national and international projects, such as Personal Development School, Investment School, Impact Marketing School, Visual Playground, Economics Through a Macrofying Glass, Business Club Conferences etc. Consisting of over 100 active members and over 400 alumni, VIP develops a number of 10 projects every year, aiming the consolidation of students’ personal and professional education.
Our hope is to create a large community of leaders who will visibly contribute to the improvement of the economic, social and political field in Romania, by promoting values such as initiative, team spirit, leadership, professionalism and ethics.
Following the corporate pattern, VIP is professionally divided into 6 different departments: Public Relations, Marketing, Human Resources, External Affairs, Finance and Sales.
Trying to adapt to the students’ needs, VIP formed a few years ago two extra clubs, Econosofia - based on economical research and
Business Club- for those with interest in entrepreneurship.
Funds collected on our behalf would be used to help develop and teach as many students as possible, so that they could become Romania's next leaders. We would be able to increase the number of projects and work on a better impact they have on students’ education. Volunteers for Ideas and Projects should be taken into consideration for the Your Big Year fund raising because for the last 11 years it’s been a great kickstart for students into taking attitude and it has encouraged them into wanting to be the change they want to see in the world.
We believe that Romania badly needs a generation of better educated people and that is why we are willing to make as many efforts as possible for this to happen.
