Conservation Volunteers Australia is a not-for-profit organisation which exists to connect people with our environment. We are the practical side of conservation - planting hundreds of thousands of trees every year, building hundreds of kilometres of tracks and trails, protecting habitats and survey wildlife, removing weeds and collecting native seeds. How would we use funds raised? On our flagship wildlife program, Wild Futures. By analysing Recovery Plans, we identify the expert-approved conservation actions to which we can provide significant support. We get our supporters excited and involved. We get our volunteers to roll up their sleeves. And then we implement those actions - actions that we know will give those animals brighter, wilder futures. We have 12 Wild Futures species around Australia, and we would love the opportunity to do more to help them. Involving over 12,000 volunteers every year (including 2,500 international volunteers), Conservation Volunteers offers opportunities for volunteers across Australia in urban, regional and (very) remote areas. Our volunteers come from many countries as well as Australia. Combining volunteers from around the world working towards a common goal, learning about the environment and achieving real conservation outcomes, our program is perfect for the winners to join!
