Liverpool Unites exists to help communities on Merseyside improve the lives of underprivileged children and young people.
By campaigning, fundraising and profile raising, Liverpool Unites will support local charities and community groups that aim to positively engage children and young people by inspiring them to break the cycle of crime and poverty, giving them hope, purpose and ambition for a brighter future.
Liverpool Unites was launched in the wake of the tragic murder of schoolboy Rhys Jones.
Inspired by the way Everton and Liverpool football fans united in respect for Everton fan Rhys and his family, Liverpool Unites represents the way that the city comes together to conquer advertisity. The charity's symbol - the purple ribbon - the purple representing the combination of the blue and red of the two Merseyside football clubs.
