After completing his trip around the world (along with fellow winner Carielle Doe), Michael Teoh has returned to Liverpool to share his experiences with Smaller Earth and their partners.

Speaking in front of Liverpool Vision (in the city's Capital Building), Michael passionately discussed the huge impact he was able to have across 22 different countries over the past year. Furthermore, he reflected on how the trip has impacted upon him and how it will continue to mould him in the future.

Michael also spoke about his excitement to be back in Liverpool:

"When in Colombia, I told them about the places I feel most at home. After my native Malaysia, and my time at University in New Zealand, I can honestly say that Liverpool is my third home."

He also went on to share some of his more practical tips, picked up from countries as far afield as Kenya, Guatemala, Thailand and Australia: "All I can say is, don't carry chocolate around the Canadian Rockies - some very big packs of animals will soon sniff it out and make sleeping a little more difficult!"

Michael's last port of call was Monrovia, Liberia. "Let me tell you, Monrovia has a population of over one million people, yet there is really only one usable road. Being back in Liverpool really reminds me how much I have missed things like electricity and a fast broadband connection!"
